Kennett oversees existing and new technology design and implementation for Microsoft's premium scalable embedded operating system. He has been a software systems architect for over 15 years, and has worked on a wide variety of software and hardware from real-time embedded video game systems up to corporate network services. Kennett's breadth of experience in design and exposure to many varieties of implementation techniques have allowed a flexible perspective with respect to embedded development. Prior to joining Microsoft, he has been a Technologist, Senior Software Developer, and Applications Analyst for major US and Canadian corporations and industry leaders including General Electric, Nortel Networks, Electronic Arts, and Intrinsyc Software. He began his career as a low-level systems programmer for audio, pioneering work in digital sound reproduction on PC-compatible wavetable synthesis sound cards.
