Abstract This report details worldwide mobile handset shipments by region and technology for the second quarter of 2007. Included within are cellphone, camera phone, and smartphone shipments. The last few days of 2Q07 produced the long awaited Apple handset, the iPhone, in the United States. Growth remains strong in the Asia/Pacific region and Latin America.
Nokia remains in the lead of worldwide distribution, and Samsung jumped to second place as Motorola slipped to third this quarter. Sony Ericsson held fourth place, and LG Electronics rounded out the top five handset manufacturers. Other manufacturers accounted for more than 20% of handset shipments this quarter.
Also included is a summary of all new phones released during 2Q07.
