Ian Lao brings over 15 years of semiconductor and electronics industry experience to In-Stat. Experience includes semiconductor design, applications design, firmware design, product marketing, and strategic marketing. Ian has worked for some of the leading semiconductor and electronics companies, including Microchip, STMicroelectronics, Integrated Information Technology, Sun Microsystems, and Raychem. Ian has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from San Jose State University and a Masters of Business Administration from University of Phoenix.

As Senior Analyst for In-Stat’s Semiconductors and Enabling Technologies group, Ian will be providing technical and market analysis on the PC Technologies Service and contributing to Microprocessor Reports (MPR). Ian also contributes to In-Stat’s consulting services. He is focused on new technology applications, changing usage models, and market crossovers which drive industry change and new demand.
