Ms. Putscher has 25 years experience in the electronics field and market research. She is a Principal Analyst with In-Stat, and she manages the Connected Digital Home service. Her research is focused on home networks, home network mediums, routers/residential gateways, digital media adapters/players/receivers, home automation tied to home networks, and consumer network drives. Joyce has been a speaker at many conferences.

Previously, Joyce covered wireless PAN technologies, and was widely known globally from 1999 through 2005 in the Bluetooth arena. In previous positions with In-Stat, she covered semiconductors for mobile phones and base stations, Micro Logic (microprocessors, microcontrollers and DSPs) and end markets using those chips, and User-Programmable Logic.

Ms. Putscher has contributed industry commentary to many technical and business publications including USA Today, New York Times, Forbes, TWICE, Red Herring, EETimes, Electronic Buyers' News, EDN, Electronic News, Electronics Business Asia, and others. She has also authored articles in TWICE, Wireless Week, Electronic Buyers' News, and Electronic News.

Prior to In-Stat, her electronics field experience includes positions such as Project Leader for R&D, prototype, and production projects for the Communications Division of Motorola's Government Electronics Group, which included marketing RF and digital custom hybrid microelectronic devices bound for Level B and Level S communications systems. She also held positions at Honeywell IAC. Ms. Putscher holds degrees in electronics engineering technology and business.
