The Impact of the Cloud on Mobile Devices

Over the next decade, the cloud will alter the dynamics of the mobile market just as it has computing and IT infrastructure. Every aspect of the mobile environment – from devices to applications, services, and usage models – will be impacted by the use of the cloud to execute, communicate, and store information. While the cloud represents a new frontier in consumer electronics technology, it also comes with the challenge of balancing resources and managing change.

Please join TI and In-Stat in the fifth installment of our six part webinar series as we discuss the challenges involved in designing next-generation mobile devices. We examined how to leverage the changes enabled by the cloud for mobile devices, including:

  • An examination of the cloud and what it represents
  • Potential changes in mobile usage models resulting from the cloud
  • The impact of the hardware and software of mobile devices
  • A timeline tied to the enabling technologies and evolving business models

The webinar was hosted by Jim McGregor, chief technology strategist of In-Stat’s mobile Internet group. Joining Jim was Ramesh Iyer, TI’s head of worldwide business development for mobile computing, as well as representatives from other industry technology leaders.

Other webinars in the series include:
