| Teledatacom Servers: Stealthy Sentinels
of Communications |
 |
For years, people have been tracking
telco servers by counting the NEBS-Compliant Servers (NCSs) that were
shipped. As it turns out, that methodology only accounts for part
of the overall Teledatacom Server (TDS) market, and, in fact, accounted
for the smaller part. Now, we have been able to get the complete picture,
accounting for not only the NCSs out there, but also the Datacom Infrastructure
Servers (DISs), which happens to be about three quarter of the overall
TDS market. While the NCSs have been dedicated to supporting voice
services, the DISs have quietly been stanchions of the Information
Superhighway. As the desire for digital data doubles every year, the
demand for servers that corral that data must track accordingly, minus
the improvements thanks to Moore’s Law. In the end, the biggest impact
to the TDS market will be the introduction of blade servers, which
will help put the intelligence where the data is.
This report includes shipment, ASP, and revenue forecasts for:
- TDSs
- NCSs
- DISs
Plus revenue forecasts for:
- Bladed TDSs
- Non-bladed TDSs
- Bladed NCSs
- Non-bladed NCSs
- Bladed DISs
- Non-bladed DISs
In addition, there is a full technical overview and market overview,
as well as lists of all the vendors affected by TDSs. |
