Abstract
MultiService WAN switch sales declined this quarter, with seasonally slower spending than in 4Q 03. Total worldwide MultiService WAN switch manufacturer sales revenues in 1Q 04 were $540 million. This is a decrease of 7% from the previous quarter, but was an increase of 2% from 1Q 03. About 82% of the sales were for ATM/IP/MPLS-related equipment, and 18% of the sales were for Frame Relay.
 
 This report includes detailed equipment vendor market shares for MultiService WAN switches sold to service providers and enterprises, as well as a rolling three-quarter forecast of the market.
