Abstract
Today, telcos are offering digital TV services over ADSL, VDSL, and fiber networks. Improvements in the data rates and reach of DSL will help telcos reach more customers with the right amount of bandwidth. At the same time, advances in video compression will reduce the “right” amount of bandwidth needed for each video stream.

More telcos will add digital TV to their services each year. Equipment suppliers are reporting increased activity, giving rise to our expectations for over 100% growth in subscribers for 2004.

This report discusses telco TV networks and services. We provide five-year digital telco TV subscriber, homes served, ARPU and revenue forecasts, as well as a forecast for TV subscribers and homes served via FTTP from the US RBOCs.
