Abstract
The packet telephony gateway market ended 2003 in strong fashion. In-Stat/MDR results show that total voice gateway port shipments grew by 62.4% in 4Q 2003 to 2.41 million ports (excluding universal port gateways and line access gateways). For the full year in 2003, total port shipments grew 62.8% to 7.56 million ports while total year revenues grew by 34.1% to $640.4 million. Nortel Networks was the overall market share leader in 2003 with a 38.9% share of total ports and a 34.3% share of total revenue. This report includes vendor market shares for various segments of the packet voice gateway market and a rolling three-quarter forecast of the packet voice equipment market.
