Abstract
This report provides data on the top networking priorities and planned areas of investment in the small business market, as well as data on the providers that small businesses purchase networking solutions from. This report also presents five-year spending forecasts for network hardware spending in the small business market over the 2003-2008 time period. Forecasts for the six spending categories of NICs, modems, hubs, LAN switches, remote access servers and routers are presented and broken down by size of business. The forecasts in this report are broken out by the following size sub-segments: 5 to 9 employee firms, 10 to 19 employee firms, 20 to 49 employee firms, and 50 to 99 employee firms. The research also includes data on the willingness of firms in this market to purchase networking products from local retail outlets and online stores.
