| Share of Wallet?: Telecom Trends and Expenditures
in the US Business Market, Part One: US Enterprises (1,000+ Employees) |
 |
This report provides detailed market forecasts for
telecom spending in the enterprise market, as well as the result of a telecom-specific
study completed in July of this year. Data on telcom priorities and investments,
current and preferred telecom providers, and decision-makers’ opinions on VoIP/IP
issues is included. Research on the indirect channels (outside of service providers)
that businesses use to purchase data services is also presented.
In the midst of this improving economy and an increasingly challenging competitive
environment, large companies are focused on improving efficiency. This is impacting
telecom decision-making in several ways, primarily in the form of emerging “preferred”
provider relationships, increased bundling and a greater focus on establishing
“standards” of connectivity, service levels and services used across their sprawling
organizations. In tandem, these firms continue to rationalize their on-going expenses,
particularly for high-end data connectivity, where they see decreasing prices
and/or requirements for mega bandwidth connections in operational hubs.
