Abstract
This study takes a deep dive look into the IT spending of the Healthcare vertical. With 6 percent growth over the next four years, the healthcare vertical is a prime vertical for vendors to target. IT segments covered include telecom, applications, outsourcing/hosting, computer hardware, and network hardware. Current and forecasted IT spending is provided overall and for each technology segment.

The Healthcare industry is one of the fastest growing verticals in terms of IT spending, including computer hardware, applications, telecom, and IT personnel. The healthcare industry is expected to spend slightly over $51 billion on information technology services and equipment in 2004, and from 2003 to 2006 In-Stat/MDR expects average annual growth to average an estimated 6 percent. Healthcare is growing at a faster pace than most of the other industries in the US.
