Abstract
This study offers both broad and detailed analysis on the government IT market. Pertinent data and analysis includes current and forecasted government IT spending, buying channels, growth opportunities and trends. IT segments include applications, telecom, computer hardware, network hardware, and outsourcing/hosted services. Other relative information, such as IT spending priorities and critical business problems, are included in this study based on recent survey data compiled from government IT decision-makers.

The government vertical is one of the fastest growing and largely targeted vertical markets in the IT industry. Trends in emergency communications, homeland security, warfare, and intergovernmental communications are all contributing to the growth in IT spending, especially around applications and telephony. Vendors and service providers need to be aware of the primary issues facing the government IT decision-makers, and this study will introduce you to the major trends, spending opportunities, and critical data in the government vertical.
