Abstract
This market research report takes a deep dive look at the IT expenditures and trends in the retail vertical.  Retail IT decision-makers are better understanding the tremendous value that information technology can provide to their own bottom line. IT investments in the retail vertical are focused around improving productivity, building process efficiencies, generating greater revenues, and introducing labor-saving technologies. Emerging technologies in the retail industry include Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs), Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID), smart cards, kiosks, biometrics, and electronic shelf labels. All of these emerging technologies are proof that the retail vertical needs to prepare their IT infrastructure for the next-generation of the retail world.
